Boy, did we score on finding a great beach. We are lucky to be able to travel in area’s that we have family in. Our Aunt and Uncle live in St. Augustine, so we really had great tour guides. And one of the highlights of this time with them is going to the beach. We were introduced to Mickler’s Landing Beach, it is just a few minutes from St. Augustine.
Most of the beach is covered in these little shells, some are broken, but you can get lucky to find some whole. It was beautiful, closer to the water is more sand, and best of all, my feet did not hurt.
The board got some use at this beach, one of the few beaches that had waves in the area. But what a great time we have when we go.
We are so used to going to the beach, sitting in our chairs, watch the water, read, just soak up the rays. But here you can go on a hunt. That’s right, you can go hunt in the sand for shark teeth. Boy, this is addicting to hunt these little guys. So much fun, you have to really search for them.
This was from the first day of searching for The Captain. As you can see, most are so small that your picky finger nail is bigger. Not sure how we see them but we do.
So not only is this a beautiful beach with shells, you have a day activity to keep yourself busy.
And we can not forget a friend we met while we were there.
This cute guy was living in the dunes as you walk out to the beach.
*Hint- get there early for a parking spot!
