So when in Memphis this is a great place to visit! To locals it is known as the pyramid! And just about a decade ago the pyramid sat empty.
In 1991, after two years and $68 million spent building the pyramid, the doors opened. Originally, the pyramid was used for special events and a sports arena, serving as the home court for University of Memphis men’s basketball team as well as the Memphis Grizzlies. However when the new FedExForum opened the pyramid went dark.
In 2015, Bass Pro Shop opened in the Pyramid. It houses 2 restaurants, a hotel, bowling alley, indoor swamp, and of course an aquarium.
You can pay a fee to go to the 28th floor to the observation deck! There is beautiful view of the Mississippi River and the state line of Arkansas.
We actually watched a storm come in, it was an amazing site! Although we had to go inside due to high winds.
You can spend hours in this mega building! We ate at one of the restaurants. Very good food and unique items on the menu.
And even played some games!
They have actual boats they sell in the swamp! And so many fish!! You want to grab a pole and start fishing!!
And yes they have live alligators!!
Make sure while in Memphis, you take a few hours and visit! You will be happy you did!!
